I’m Chris, an experienced researcher in conservation paleoecology and marine biology. My current focus is on exploring the properties that made marine refugia successful through past mass extinctions in order to help species thrive in present and future marine protected areas. I also study the effects of the North Pacific Warm Blob on intertidal ecosystems of western Vancouver Island, marine epibiosis past and present, and geohazards beneath the Alberta oil sands mining area. From time to time, I dabble in fossil sea urchin research.
